Dhanush delivers yet another award-.worthy performance in an excellent film.Set in the backdrop of pre-Independence India, Arun Matheswaran’s latest film revolves around a tribal man Analeesan aka Dhanush from an oppressed community in a village.who are discriminated against by the local King Jayaprakash and are not allowed into the main temple in the village. Dhanush falls in love with the King’s niece Velmathi.
Priyanka Mohan and wants to convey his feelings to her, however things don’t go as planned and Eesa decides to leave his village and join the British Army. In a hard-hitting scene that features his freedom-fighter brother Sengolan Shiva Raj kumar who questions Eesa’s decision to join the army,
Eesa says the British will treat him with dignity on par with other soldiers and give him boots to wear when compared to the royal family who don’t even allow him to wear sandals.
Upon enrolling himself in army, Eesa is renamed as “Miller” and develops friendship with his colleague Rafiq Sundeep Kishan. The rest of the story follows Miller as he turns into a dreaded dacoit with a reward on his head and takes on the British Army.

Dhanush lives and breathes the titular character in a convincing manner. He brilliantly transforms from a young man to an excited trainee soldier to a dreaded dacoit to a leader of an armed gang fighting the British as well as the King’s private army.

Arun Matheswaran stages his scenes brilliantly in such a way that they all leave a lasting impact. Some of them are clap-worthy Eesa’s transformation scene, Velmathi using a gun for the first time.
Nivedhi thaaSathish
impresses as a gun-toting outlaw who fights along with the men; her conversations with Eesa are interesting.
